Is it better to use a pool builder who offers all services, or one that uses sub-contractors?

Every pool builder uses sub-contractors, it's just the amount that varies.  At a bare minimum, a concrete pool builder will sub-contract the concrete pouring and a fibreglass pool builder will sub-contract the crane hire.

That being said, most pool builders to use sub-contractors for the various requirements such as electrics, tiling, fencing, landscaping etc. This allows them to tap into the expertise of skilled professionals in specific areas. However, it's essential to ensure that the pool builder has a strong network of reliable and experienced sub-contractors.

When you are selecting your pool builder, Poolz highly recommends that you get a good understanding of the sub-contractors being used, the relationship between them and the builder and the possible impact of delays.

Do pool builders also do landscaping?

While some pool builders offer landscaping services as part of their offerings, it's important to note that not all pool builders provide this service.

Pool builders primarily focus on the construction and installation of the swimming pool itself, including excavation, plumbing, electrical work, and pool finishing.

However, many pool builders have established partnerships or collaborations with trusted landscapers who specialise in pool area landscaping.

The time it takes to build a new pool can vary depending on several factors, including the pool type, design complexity, site conditions, and the specific requirements of your project. Generally, the process can range from a few weeks to several months.

For fibreglass pools, the installation process is typically faster, as the pool shell is pre-manufactured and delivered to the site. The installation can be completed within 2 to 8 weeks, depending on the site preparation and additional features.

In the case of concrete pools, the construction process involves more steps, such as forming, steel reinforcement and curing. The installation timeframe for a concrete pool is typically between 10-16 weeks, depending on the pool's size, design intricacy, and weather conditions.
